About This Event

A Very Mercury Christmas featuring Yule Dogs, Wormburner, Christopher John Campion, Vincent Brue and the Long Branch Davidians

Yule Dogs

A Christmas collective featuring members of all bands, plus special guests bringing it all home with a sing-along set of your favorite rock radio yuletide classics.

Wormburner are narrative indie rock luminaries from Brooklyn via Hoboken. KEXP in Seattle calls Wormburner “anthemic indie rock with a punk rock kick”. Time Out New York cites “echoes of Springsteen, The Clash and The Pogues that ring out in succinct vignettes…twanging and swelling over vocalist Hank Henry’s forthright, reedy delivery”. According to The New Yorker, Hank “can sound like a cross between Michael Stipe and the Mountain Goats’ John Darnielle”. Wormburner regularly headlines beloved NYC rock clubs like The Bowery Ballroom and The Mercury Lounge. Tour dates have landed Wormburner as far from home as the West Coast, where KEXP in Seattle has twice honored Wormburner with Song of the Day accolades and has even hosted the band for live-in-the-studio performances. Wormburner has shared stages with Violent Femmes, The War on Drugs, Old 97s, The Walkmen, Deer Tick, Cracker, and Camper van Beethoven (David Lowery produced Wormburner’s debut album). Legendary VJ Matt Pinfield hosted Wormburner vocalist Hank Henry for an in-depth interview on MTV’s 120 Minutes.  Wormburner’s most recent LP is titled “Pleasant Living in Planned Communities”, and it was included on Robert Christgau’s “Dean’s List” ranking the best releases of 2014.  In 2016, Wormburner released an EP of new material and alternate studio takes from the vault.  The band is finishing work on their fourth LP, and recently released an advance-single called “Restless Nation”.  An anthem for pandemic times of social unrest, “Restless Nation” was spotlighted on WFUV in New York as part of the station’s NYSlice feature.

Christopher John Campion

Christopher John Campion is a New York City singer-songwriter/racontuer-author known for his rollicking off-Broadway music-monologue-piece, Escape From Bellevue and the acclaimed memoir that followed on Penguin Books. In 2016 he released the full length album, Watch The Gap, touring and opening shows for M.Ward, Rhett Miller, and Violent Femmes. In the years hence CJC has been on an ongoing non-stop live performance schedule and released the ep’s; Split Milk, Otto Otto (with backing band Mad Staggers), and 2021’s Face Off. Recently his songs have been featured on the WFUV radio show NYSlice along with the CBS television programs Instinct and NCIS:Los Angeles. He is currently working on a book of essays in tandem with a new album….

Vincent Brue and the Long Branch Davidians

After 20 years guarding the airwaves with The South Jersey Seashore Lifeguard Convention Band and Lifeguard Nights, Vincent Brue has finally hung up the speedo and ventured out into uncharted waters with a new band The Long Branch Davidians in support of his latest solo effort, “Life During Quartime,” an ambitious collection of songs which attempt to make some melodic sense out of these wild times.
