About This Event
Emmit Fenn with IHF
Emmit was adopted at the age of 1 by the largest whale in the pacific ocean during the golden age when large whales were legally able to adopt small humans. Though no one could understand Emmit, except for the whale and the occasional passing by shrimp, he was able to communicate to his fellow sea creatures through high pitched whale sounds. He was taught at the ripe age of 65 to speak the language “English”. Emmit was then ostracized by the large sea creatures which raised him, and he proceeded to find comfort through music. Then he put out some songs.
Washington, DC-based Ben Gorvine, better known by his stage name IHF, captivates listeners around the world with his melodic, atmospheric electronic music. His music first gained traction with the release of his Floating EP in 2014, accumulating millions of streams online. His 2016 sophomore EP release, Departure, solidified his place in the electronic music community as an artist with his own unique sound. One of his more well known tracks, “Evolve”, gained the attention of Google and was used in their 2016 Olympics ad campaign. Ben’s debut album ‘Precious Cargo’, was released June 2, 2021. This project blurs the line between electronic and indie. Relaxed yet stimulating instrumentals accompany Ben’s vocals, which range from driving melodies to background textures.
Ben’s online presence resulted in a wide array of opportunities, from touring with artists such as Big Wild, Griz, Glass Animals, Thievery Corporation, STS9, Hayden James, and Elderbrook, to playing major festivals including Coachella, Electric Forest, and Lightning in a Bottle. His extensive catalogue of new music will make for an immersive and emotional live show experience that he plans to unveil alongside his debut album in 2021.
